“How we do things round here” neatly defines organisational culture. But in many organisations “we” don’t all do things in ways that align.

Ask yourself the question “How many of my people will react in the best way (for the business) in any given situation?”

You need people to live your culture in ways that deliver what your business needs.

Many organisations have a set of core values, but few break these down into clear behaviours that can be used as a basis for constructive feedback and development.

To be effective the same behaviours must be role model by managers and, ideally everyone should be prepared to challenge inconsistencies.

The diagram below illustrates how this can benefit you! (You can save it by clicking on it)

I frequently deliver workshops for clients as a start point for them in developing their own values and behaviours. This is what they say about me:

‘Simon has worked with us over a number of years and his professionalism and diligence has significantly improved our culture and ethos. In the last year we have had no staff absences due to ‘work-related stress – significant for staff in a school for excluded pupils’
